A beautiful summer day.

Today we had a play date at Pirates Landing with Parker's new friends Jillian and Connor Wells. Their mom works with Jay at the AG and happened to be in town this afternoon and up for a trip to the pool. As you know, Parker is always game for a little pool time.

Parker Atkins, MD - Class of 2033

Paging Dr. Atkins... Dr. Atkins, please report to Surgery!

Last night we took Parker to "Big Kids Only" class at Columbia Regional Hospital. He read a book about how babies are born, diapered Batty (as pictured in Dr. Atkins' left hand), designed a birthday card for Georgia, dressed like a doctor, took a tour of the nursery, met a brand-new baby girl and took a ride on the motorized hospital bed. Whew! After all that Mom and Dad were exhausted! Parker loved going on a "date" with us. He will be such a great big brother!!!

Fireman

Parker is completely and totally IN LOVE with all things fireman. Every morning at school he runs to the couch, sits down and starts taking off his shoes so he can put on the fireman coat, backpack (his gear) and red boots. Then he leaves it on for most of the day. The other kids don't even ask about being a fireman - that is Parker's thing. So we are ordering him a fireman suit like the ones at Denver Children's Museum for his gift at the hospital. He will be running up and down the ward in his coat, pants with suspenders and reflective fabric, boots and hat. I'm not sure we will ever get it off him, but it should be fun.

Sicilian Pizza

Jay made homemade pizza with fresh basil from the backyard, fresh mozz, hot italian sausage, olive tapenade and pizza sauce with a parmesan herb crust. Delightful! For an app we had pepperoni bread. Yum again. This is a new favorite and perhaps my all time fav Jay pizza recipe.

Parker helped every step of the way. He loves to cook!

33 1/2 weeks and counting

It is time to revive this blog!!!

I am going to make a big, whole-hearted, energetic (ha) attempt to breathe new life into our family blog. I will be posting new pics of Parker and soon, Baby Girl Georgia. Check back often!

Topics to discuss:
Parker's antics and toddler wisdom
Georgia developments
The Atkins Family Bistro where there's always something cookin'
Home projects - before and after
And, maybe a line here or there about how Jay and I are doing!

Big hugs and thanks for visiting!
