Rollin' with her homies...

We caught Georgia on a roll. This is officially her fourth time rolling over, the first was over a month ago. This is the first time she has done it during daylight hours. And although Haley is typically lurking around in the middle of the night, she rarely does it with a video camera in hand. So here it is, never-before-seen footage of a back-to-belly roll. You might notice Georgia's homie and partner in crime Caroline is in the background cheering her on. :)

New Georgia Pics

Our little angel is almost 7 weeks old. Of course, we love her more and more everyday.

This is Georgia's favorite place to sleep. Mom kinda likes it too.
Daddy's Little Girl
I would love to tell you she doesn't get appendages stuck in the crib four times nightly, but that would be a fib.

Token big brother shot. Parker loves his baby sister and continues his position as family jester and "Fire Chief Atkins".

Brooks Priesmeyer's 2nd Birthday

Brooks' 2nd birthday party was a blast! All the boys played hard and were thrilled to be together (as usual). These guys are the best of friends and are too cute!

Georgia On My Mind

Now introducing Georgia Elizabeth Atkins. Born August 12, 2009 at 2:29 pm. She was 6 pounds 3.2 ounces. As of Sunday, August 16th Georgia is enjoying an extended stay at the hospital in the Neonatal ICU. She had a bit of a tough entry into the world, but is doing much better now. As soon as she can maintain her own body temperature she will come home.

Haley is recovering well. We have been spending most of our time in the NICU with our sweet baby girl. They have generously allowed us to stay over in a guest room in the unit both last night and tonight. If all goes well tonight, she will be home tomorrow.

Please continue to keep us in your prayers. Thanks for all the love you have sent. We pass it all along to Georgia.

And now, for the leading lady herself...

I'm home for awhile

It seems that my blood pressure does not want to cooperate, so I have been restricted from work officially now. Not that it is a bad thing, it just makes waiting for Georgia that much harder. Thank you to all of our wonderful friends for all your help maintaining life as we know it and helping us prepare for Georgia. It is a true blessing to have you in our lives.

I would post a pic of my growing belly, but just picture big and you have the right idea. :)

Parker's Bathtub Solo Debut

With a bit of prompting, in this video Parker sings "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" in the bathtub. Grandma Veebs taught him this at the beginning of summer.

A beautiful summer day.

Today we had a play date at Pirates Landing with Parker's new friends Jillian and Connor Wells. Their mom works with Jay at the AG and happened to be in town this afternoon and up for a trip to the pool. As you know, Parker is always game for a little pool time.

Parker Atkins, MD - Class of 2033

Paging Dr. Atkins... Dr. Atkins, please report to Surgery!

Last night we took Parker to "Big Kids Only" class at Columbia Regional Hospital. He read a book about how babies are born, diapered Batty (as pictured in Dr. Atkins' left hand), designed a birthday card for Georgia, dressed like a doctor, took a tour of the nursery, met a brand-new baby girl and took a ride on the motorized hospital bed. Whew! After all that Mom and Dad were exhausted! Parker loved going on a "date" with us. He will be such a great big brother!!!

Fireman

Parker is completely and totally IN LOVE with all things fireman. Every morning at school he runs to the couch, sits down and starts taking off his shoes so he can put on the fireman coat, backpack (his gear) and red boots. Then he leaves it on for most of the day. The other kids don't even ask about being a fireman - that is Parker's thing. So we are ordering him a fireman suit like the ones at Denver Children's Museum for his gift at the hospital. He will be running up and down the ward in his coat, pants with suspenders and reflective fabric, boots and hat. I'm not sure we will ever get it off him, but it should be fun.

Sicilian Pizza

Jay made homemade pizza with fresh basil from the backyard, fresh mozz, hot italian sausage, olive tapenade and pizza sauce with a parmesan herb crust. Delightful! For an app we had pepperoni bread. Yum again. This is a new favorite and perhaps my all time fav Jay pizza recipe.

Parker helped every step of the way. He loves to cook!

33 1/2 weeks and counting

It is time to revive this blog!!!

I am going to make a big, whole-hearted, energetic (ha) attempt to breathe new life into our family blog. I will be posting new pics of Parker and soon, Baby Girl Georgia. Check back often!

Topics to discuss:
Parker's antics and toddler wisdom
Georgia developments
The Atkins Family Bistro where there's always something cookin'
Home projects - before and after
And, maybe a line here or there about how Jay and I are doing!

Big hugs and thanks for visiting!
